How stick rarity works in Stick League
The five tiers, the real odds, and why a beautiful stick can still come back Common.
By the Stick League team ·

Every stick you scan in Stick League becomes a card with a rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary. People ask two questions about it more than anything else: how rare is my stick, and why did it get that tier? Here is the full answer.
The five tiers
| Tier | Score | Share of scans |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 5–30 | 25–57% |
| Uncommon | 31–60 | 30% |
| Rare | 61–80 | 10–28% |
| Epic | 81–94 | 3–13% |
| Legendary | 95–100 | 0.4–3.9% |
Each range runs from an ordinary stick to the most remarkable one, and comes straight from the scoring rules in the app.
Step one: the judge looks at the stick
An image model studies your photo and gives it a hidden quality mark from 1 to 100: how unusual the shape is, the curves, colour, size and general character. It also writes the name, species, kind, review and stats you see on the card.
Step two: the tier is rolled
The quality mark does not set the tier directly. It shifts the odds. A plain stick has a 0.4% chance of Legendary; the most remarkable stick has about 3.9%. Rare-or-better goes from about 13% to about 45%. Then the app rolls.
That is deliberate. It keeps every scan exciting, it stops people gaming the system with clever angles, and it is honest about what a photo of a stick can and cannot tell you.
Step three: the score lands in the tier
Inside the tier's range, the score is part quality and part chance. So two Rare sticks might be 62 and 79, and the better stick is more likely to be the higher one.
What higher tiers unlock
- Rare and better cards shimmer with foil, enter Stick of the Month, earn the Rare Finder badge and can appear on this website with their own card page.
- Pro members get illustrated art on Rare and better cards.
- The score feeds straight into battles, so higher tiers win more often.
Natty or modded makes no difference to the odds
The card shows whether a stick is natural or altered, but the rarity roll treats them the same. A carved stick is judged on how remarkable it looks like any other.

Questions
How rare is a Legendary stick?
Between 0.4% and 3.9% of scans, depending on how remarkable the judge finds the stick.
Does scanning the same stick again change the rarity?
Each scan is a new roll, so it can. The odds stay the same for the same stick and photo quality.
